Nashville Predators see two-goal lead disappear in 3rd period, fall 3-2 to St. Louis Blues

The Nashville Predators blew a two-goal lead in the third period to fall 3-2 to the St. Louis Blues at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday.
After Fedor Svechkov and Brady Skjei scored in the first period to build a 2-0 lead for the Predators, the Blues fought back in the second and third period.
Dylan Holloway made it 2-1 at the 10:25 mark of the second, then Blues scored twice in 22 seconds in the third period to take a 3-2 lead — defenseman Cam Fowler tied the game at 11:57, then Holloway scored his second goal at 12:29.
The Predators' defense had been keeping the Blues at bay most of the night, but St. Louis kept the pressure on and held on for their eighth straight win.
Joel Hofer made 16 saves in the win, while Juuse Saros made 18 saves in the loss.
Nashville (27-37-8, 62 points) host the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. St. Louis (39-28-7, 85 points) visit the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
Dylan Holloway gets Blues on the board, Predators lead 2-1
The Blues scored their first goal of the game on a shot that Juuse Saro will want to have back.
Forward Dylan Holloway sent a wrist shot on net that should have been an easy save for Saros. Instead the puck bounced in off his glove, making it a 2-1 game with 9:25 left in the second period.
It was another poor moment from Saros, who has struggled this season for the Predators.
Andreas Englund slams Jake Neighbours into wall, sparking fight
It took a bit longer than expected for a skirmish between the Predators and Blues.
At the 5:29 mark of the second period, Predators defenseman Andreas Englund slammed Blues forward Jake Neighbours into the wall near the Predators bench. After play stopped, Blues defenseman Tyler Tucker engaged with Englund in a brief fight. Englund landed a couple heavy blows before the fight was stopped.
No penalty was called for Englund's initial hit, though both he and Tucker got five minute majors for fighting.
The Predators and Blues racked up 63 penalty minutes in the last contest, a 4-1 win for St. Louis.
Fedor Svechkov, Brady Skjei put Predators up 2-0 on Blues in first period
Rookie forward Fedor Svechkov put the Predators on top early with his seventh goal of the season.
At the 2:48 mark, Svechkov received a pass from Michael Bunting and roofed a wrist shot by Blues goaltender Joel Hofer. It was a perfectly timed shot that Hofer never saw coming and gave Nashville a 1-0 lead.
A few minutes later, Brady Skjei scored his 10th goal of the season to put Nashville up 2-0. The goal was scored on the power play after Ryan Suter committed a slashing penalty.
