It was the fourth straight win for Vancouver (11-7-1-0), who have a massive weekend coming up with a Friday home game at the Langley Events Centre against the Kamloops Blazers (17-2-0-0) and a Saturday road game versus the Everett Silvertips (17-1-1-1).

Winger Fabian Lysell, who was a Boston Bruins’ first-round pick this summer, had two goals and two assists for the Giants against the Rockets. Lysell has four goals and four assists in his past three games. He’s up to eight goals on the season. Winger Adam Hall added his team-leading ninth of the season for Vancouver to round out the goal scoring for the Giants. Forward Justin Sourdif, the 2020 Florida Panthers third rounder who had been named to Team Canada world junior tryout camp earlier in the day, added two assists.
Jesper Vikman, who was a 2020 fifth-round selection of the Vegas Golden Knights, made 38 saves in the Vancouver net. Talyn Boyko stopped 19 shots for Kelowna (10-6-0-0).
