The Edmonton Oilers — one of the NHL's early success stories this season — play host to the Philadelphia Flyers in the second game of Wednesday Night Hockey on NBC Sports Network.
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are tied for the NHL lead in scoring (alongside Winnipeg's Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine) with 12 points each through Edmonton's first six games. The Oilers have found another forward to dependably put pucks in the net in veteran scorer James Neal, who has already scored more goals than he had all last year. It's still early, but if they can keep it up they could see a successful campaign reminiscent of their 2016-17 season.
Ahead of them lies a date with the Flyers, who have lost their last two games incuding a Tuesday night tilt in Calgary. Carter Hart, 21, recorded a shutout in his second start this season and offered a save of the year candidate to boot. He's scheduled to start against Edmonton Wednesday.

The Oilers will need to muster up shots and rely on their stars to create scoring chances while bringing Hart back to earth, as the Flyers have the fifth-lowest shots against per game (29.5).
Not to mention, this game could amount to a special-teams spectacular — both teams rate within the league's top-10 in both power play and penalty kill percentage.

For the Flyers, all eyes will be on Travis Konecny. After being rewarded with a six-year, $33 million extension, the 22-year-old has been off to a hot start with three goals and seven points in the first four games, good for first on the Flyers.
As for Edmonton, players to watch of course include McDavid, Draisaitl and Neal, but also top-line winger Zack Kassian, who's managed five points through his first six games and has netted a point in all but one, while creating a variety of dangerous scoring chances.
