Cameroon coach, Marc Brys, has sent FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto'o a warning ahead of the start of his spell with the five-time African champions.

Brys was appointed head coach of the Indomitable Lions last month by the country's Sports Ministry without approval from the Cameroonian Football Federation led by the former Barcelona star.

With exactly a month left to make his Cameroon debut, Brys is yet to meet Eto'o as he prepares his team for the games against Angola and Cape Verde in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Belgian, 61, disclosed his willingness to meet the legendary footballer but insists issues with regard to the playing body and the technical team will be entirely under his supervision.

"I am not the type to chase people around because I have to concentrate on the team and players for the next matches," he told Le Monde, as quoted by Kick Off.
"I am open to discussions, attentive, and positive but the locker room is a place for the coach, the technical team, and the players, and into which neither the sports ministry nor FECAFOOT can enter," he added.

Brys signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to manage the Indomitable Lions as they look to recover from the disappointment of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. The 2017 champions were eliminated in the Round of 16. as reported by the BBC.

"I no longer wanted to coach in Belgium. I wanted to experience something else," Brys continued as he revealed his reason for taking the Cameroon job.

Ekitike rejects Cameroon for France

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Paris Saint-Germain forward, Hugo Ekitike rejected a proposal to play for the Cameroon national team at the international level.

The 21-year-old, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt has dreams of playing for France, the country of his birth at senior level. Ekitike has made a couple of appearances at youth levels for Les Blues.

However, following struggles for game time at PSG, his role at the senior level has been reduced leading to interest from FECAFOOT.
